Daring Female's Guide to Ecstatic Living coverThe subtitle of this book, 30 Dares for a More Gutsy and Fulfilling Life, summarizes perfectly author Natasha Kogan's book.  Kogan's own life is interwoven in her book, with anecdotes that illustrate her own dares that led to fulfilling dreams of running her own publishing firm and later self-publishing her own work.

The Daring Female's Guide to Ecstatic Living is the kind of book that you can open anywhere and find something inspiring, motivating and encouraging.  Kogan offers what she calls "dares" to help women live the kinds of lives they crave.  In a world where it is so easy to get caught up in the mundane, the to-do lists, the errands and chores, sometimes we lose sight of those things that truly excite us and make our lives more enthralling and invigorating.  Kogan's book of 30 dares is designed to help women get back in touch with their most satisfying lives.

Dares in the book include:
  • Dare to Have a Life Wishlist and Cross Something Off Every Year
  • Dare to Love Your Quirks and Imperfections
  • Dare to Take Sides, but Be Ready to Switch
  • Dare to Just Get in a Good Mood
  • Dare to Look Forward More Often Than You Look Back

Kogan offers examples, checklists and questions to consider that help illustrate and clarify her dares.  Her tone is extremely upbeat and encouraging, and one gets the feeling that there's nothing that can stand in her way.  And if there isn't anything that can block her, why would there be any insurmountable obstacles for the rest of us?

From her introduction:

Dare yourself to live with passion and gutso, and find the guts to go after what matters to you - today, right now, this moment.  Whether it's overcoming a great challenge, taking a risk, trying something completely new, or simply making each day more enjoyable and fulfilling, the first step is to dare yourself to do it.  This is your life and no one else can take that step for you - so dig deep, find your inner Daring Female, and go for it!
