Operatica
: Shine
A bewitching mixture of opera and electronica, "Operatica : Shine"
is a unique combination of textures and rhythms. The CD features the
vocal talents of Inva Mula, Shakila, Ying Huang, John Osborn and Maureen
O'Flynn.
The individual pieces run the gamut from classical Persian folk songs,
"Je Crois Entendre Encore" from Bizet's opera "The Pearl
Fishers", original compositions and much more. The mixture of such
diverse forms seems unusual at first, but the ease with which they fit
together and compliment each other is wholly refreshing.
Attempting to describe "Operatica : Shine" in terms of any
one style of music is difficult at best. It is neither dance music,
techno, opera, nor classical, but something beyond the restrictions
of these forms. "Shine" is simultaneously dream-like and other-worldly
with a tantalizing combination of rhythms.
"Operatica : Shine" is a surprising gem; a unique mixture
of styles that create a work like no other.
