Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

I Am DivaI Am Diva!, by Elena Bates, Maureen O'Crean, Molly Thompson and Carilyn Vaile

If there was a self-help book perfect for reviewing at DivaTribe, I Am Diva! would be it! It's a weekly guide to freeing your inner Diva and living an outrageous life, written by four women. This book takes you through a year's worth of lessons that will teach, inspire, motivate and entertain. If you feel like there's not enough time, not enough energy and not enough reasons to embark on yet another quest for your "real" life, think again and give I Am Diva! a look. More than just a real life, it will help you find your FUN life!

From the back cover:

"The four Divas who wrote this book...come together from different ages and stages of life. They are thin and full-figured, married and single, with children and without. That have successfully navigated the fields of fashion design, nursing, Internet consulting, business and more - and now offer their collective vision on redefining a woman's self-worth...as a Diva!"

The book is divided into 13 sections and covers 52 weeks. The four different authors take turns writing the various sections, and they always "sign" their writings, so you know which woman is giving which piece of advice or insight. At the end of each week's reading you will find the "Diva-Do's", which are your exercises and activities for the week. Most sections also include a more outrageous Diva-Do, for the truly brave and fun-loving Diva.

Keep in mind that this is about fun - there is a lot of talk about feathery boas, glitter, and the color pink. There's still journaling and the usual self-discovery type activities one might expect, but this book exudes playfulness and joy throughout its pages, and that can be a welcome breath of fresh air in the world of "self-help" books.
