Chicks
Laying Nest Eggs,
by Karin Housley
Chicks
Laying Nest Eggs was not a love/hate reading for me. I gained
some knowledge and took what I needed to leave the rest. I was more
fascinated by the lives of the women and very intrigued with their ambition.
The content was excellent for beginning investors and even though the
math was elementary it was a welcome refresher and just what I needed!
Another welcome relief is that the content was light, which may sound
contradictory for starting investing clubs but I didn't cringe when
I'd revisit the book or dread a long study session with it.
If you are finding it hard to get started with stock investments I recommend
this book highly. In a market that looks menacing to jump in to with
little knowledge this book will bring you around to the front of the
game and start from there. Summaries of each chapter were helpful if
you found yourself being led in circles and a handy glossary certainly
helped me decipher the code jargon.
Chicks
Laying Nest Eggs also made me think about support groups. How
strong women are when they band together and that a little support from
your friends can take you far in any area of your life. Taking control
of your finances to shedding those unwanted pounds.
I have read other more critical reviews of this book. Some begrudge
the women for the initial money they had to start with, but I view it
as more of success story for what they've done with it since then.
