I\'m a bit surprised that I am the only one to comment so far, I know a few of us were planning on getting it (Soap Star, for one definite).  After savoring every word for the last few weeks I\'ve had it, I finally finished it tonight.  I take my time reading the books because I love them so much and I can\'t bear to wait 2 whole years for another one... sad
I loved it!  I didn\'t find it to have as much drama and excitement as the past books have, but I liked that it was slow.  So much became clear, Dumbledore really opened up to Harry in this book.  Rowling sure was right when she said to keep a box of tissues nearby when reading this one!
Anyone else??

Oooohhhhh, I can\'t wait to read it!!  I promised my sweet, loving boyfriend that I\'d finish reading the book he wrote first.  No small task; it\'s HUGE and it\'s not my genre.  But love is love, so there ya go!   book   My mom and sis read it the first weekend it was out and I\'ve got it sitting on my coffee table waiting for me.

book  I was at the bookstore at Midnight that Friday, and finished reading on Sunday.

I loved the book party - there were some great costumes.  My home-made broom rocked.  There was a tall guy in a green cape (very Slytherin) and a little baby in a Hedwig outfit (so cute!).

Overall, of course, I love the books, but I thought the dialogue in this one after the first couple of chapters was very different.  Less of letting the reader or the characters figure things out, more like beating them over the head with a direct message.

Best scene - Snape\'s meeting with Bellatrix and Narcissa.

And I have to say I\'ve missed hearing the sorting hat poems and Harry has not had as much time for Quidditch as before, and next school year is not very promising in that regard either.

Just one more frustration - why did Dumbledore not use a simple \"Accio wand\" command at the right moment?  We saw Harry employ that quite successfully over a long distance to get his broom for the Triwizard Tournament dragon challenge.

On the positive side:  the anticipation of the search for the horcruxes!

Finished it last  night!

My opinion:  Dumbledore is not dead.  Snape is still onthe side of good.  D\'s animal is, after all, the phoenix.  I think he sees some good in Malfoy, just as he saw it in Snape.  Malfoy didn\'t want to kill D, so Snape stepped in a faked the killing in order to protect Malfoy from having to do it for real and saving his own cover.  Remember how D was saying he could hide Malfoy and his mother, that no one would be surprised if he died trying to kill D?  And it was Hagrid, whom he trusted immensely, who carried D\'s body, yet I\'m not certain that anyone got a great look at D\'s body.

My two cents.  Wink

I loved it and can\'t wait to read number seven!
