If you want to start your own topic or thread, go to the forum you think it will best fit, find the "new topic" button above and to the right of the list of current threads.  Click that and you're all set!

Note that you cannot start a new topic while reading a current thread, so you need to go to the main page of the forum in order to start your new thread.
