 diva
All of the above and so much more.  I'm a writer living in Westchester County NY, born and raised in Italy, where I go regularly to bond with my family and recharge my batteries. I talk about every aspect of life, with particular focus on my childhood memories in Italy, writing fiction, cooking and baking (lots of recipes!) and whatever else makes me feel passionate that day. It's a website for all of us women, but that even men might find interesting (guys, do you really want to understand us?). I also have a section written in Italian for all of you who understand or are learning my beautiful native language.  Please visit www.MaraWriter.com : I'd love your feedback.  Ciao!

Actualy an addition.  For those of your who're interested in French food, I wrote a review of the French bistro in NYC, La Bonne Soupe and posted it on my website www.MaraWriter.com   If you've been there, let me know what you think.  And, if you are on West 55th St at some point soon, you may want to have lunch there.  And, of course, send me your feedback, ladies! Ciao, smile

Actually, I wanted to post a new topic, but couldn't figure out how to do it, Jen! But here it is (food again!) I've been watching the dvd series by Jacques Pepin, Fast Food My Way, and I'm so terribly inspired.  I love to cook and bake, but often the time is so limited and I'm so tired...Jacques makes those preparations seem so effortless, so, ok, I ordered the companion book.  Anyway, today, in occasion of my daughter's birthday, I'm having a (small) pasta party.  I'm making two kinds of pasta, Fischiotti al pesto and Rigatoni with a tomato, onion and butter sauce, plus Insalata Caprese (Tomato and mozzarella salad), and of course a gooey Chocolate Rasberry cake with Rasberry Coulis.  I can't wait to get to work!

Sweet torture indeed.  Up in the clouds; then down in hopeless land.  I often talk about this compelling subject on my website www.MaraWriter.com , but it's generally in Italian. I delve in.  Probably worth learning the language! Oh well, let's change the subject, shall we? My pasta party went wonderfully yesterday and the Chocolate Raspberry Cake turned out truly divine.  Yeah, let's talk more about food.  It hurts less.

I made a wonderful and super-simple Insalata Caprese today, Tomato and Mozzarella Salad.  And I taped it! Check out my video where I make this famous dish in about six minutes and my way.  And let me know, ladies! The video is on my website, www.MaraWriter.com and also on YouTube (search: Mara Making Insalata Caprese].

That's good stuff.  DH's father's side of the family is Italian and they make this often for family dinners and BBQs.  My favorite holiday is "Italian" Christmas Eve where they do the feast of 7 fishes and more..........
