I joined a book club!  Our selection this month is Palace Walk by Naguib Mahfouz.  It is the first book in a trilogy, was written back in the late 50s, and the author (now deceased) won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1988.  Pretty cool stuff!  I've only read the first few pages and am dying to pick it back up and read more.

Up to chapter 10 now.  Beautiful writing.  The characters are interesting and it's a snapshot of Egyptian culture in the early 1900s.  I'm waiting to see what the plot brings.
