I bought this from amazon and started it yesterday.  So far I've done two days at level 1 and it's a nice change of pace for me!  Has anyone else done this workout before?

Is this like a work-out DVD? I saw a few people talking about it on a local message board I frequent.  I've never done well personally with fitness DVDs. They usually end up collecting dust. hammer

I have thought about this one.  Jen, how's it going?  Some of my WW'ers swear by it.

It is a workout DVD, and I finish it in 27 minutes.  But it's pretty intense!  I burn about 150-160 calories in that short amount of time.  It basically runs through a warm-up, 3 circuits and then a cool down.  Each circuit is 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs.  You need a mat (if you're on wood floors) and a couple of dumbbells.  There are three levels that build in intensity and I think the idea is that the first time through, you do ten days of each (ideally).

I'm liking it because it's a change of pace from what I was doing.  I still get up at 5am to work out, but just doing something new keeps my exercise feeling fresh.

I'm gonna go for it and pick this one up.  I've heard a lot of good things!  Jen, do you wear a heart rate monitor to determine the calories you've burned?

I've done 6 days in a row.  Taking tomorrow off and then back to it on Monday!

Mine DVD is on the way and I think I've talked DH into doing it with me.  He's thin as can be, but I thought it might be a fun thing we can do together.

I hope you enjoy it!  It's a nice combination of strength exercises using dumbbells, a little bit of cardio to keep your heart rate up and some ab work.  I actually look forward to the abs part now (get to lie down, lol!).  And considering the fact that with warm up and cool down you're done in 27 minute, it's a pretty efficient workout.

One more day at level one for me and then I switch to level 2!

That's awesome, Jen!  clap

RE: Heart Rate Monitors, I have a Polar F4, but it's in the shop for servicing.  I love that thing!  It really helps gauge the workout I'm doing.  It has taught me so much about when I'm on different cardio machines at the gym and how I need to work.  I'll use it when I do the Shred DVD.  Can't wait to discuss the workout with you once I start.  big grin

I have a Polar HRM too!  I think it's an F6 - can't remember now.  It's a great little tool, I agree!  I had no idea just how hard i was working during ballet.  I mean, I knew I was working hard because I could feel it, but to see my heart rate and calories burned - whoa!  It was very cool. big grin star

That's really good to hear, because it tells me there is a difference in the levels and we'll get our money's worth!  I wasn't able to Shred yet; but after the job stuff today and tomorrow it becomes the priority.  Can't wait to try it!
