How do you deal with this?  I might feel fairly well rested, eat well, exercise regularly, etc. etc. but I see myself and think, "Wow, I look tired/old/haggard/whatever."  I'm not a huge make-up person and yet I wonder what I can do to help my outside match with how I feel inside.  It's  bit discouraging. Sad  Can anyone else relate?  New haircut?  Tips?  It's frustrating.

I can totally relate!  I'm trying to get more moisture in my skin; face, neck, hands, etc.  I am hoping that will help make me look revived.  My skin has been really, really dry lately and I think that's making it worse.

I think for years I thought my skin was oily and prone to breakouts, and I was using all kinds of harsh treatments.  Now that I know why it was always looking so bad and switched to gentle cleansers and a morning and nighttime routine, my skin's texture and tone has improved so much!  But I still look tired through the eyes and my skin's overall color is still pretty uneven.

Heather, do you drink enough water each day?

I have the opposite problem. I feel worse than I look  I think lol.

I would say it starts from within. It seems like you feel good, but if you view yourself in a positive light, you may realize you dont look as bad as you think smile

If you are concerned with weight, of course eat right and exercise, but you can also try garters/spanx, etc.

I recently changed my eyebrow shape just a bit and it has made a big difference in my face! Maybe a simple change like that would help?

Yep, I'm a big water drinker.

I drink a lot of water too.  mostly I think I look tired through my eyes, and maybe I'm overreacting a bit.  Might not be as bad as I think.

Aries, thanks for your suggestions.  I cleaned up my eyebrows a bit over the weekend - little things do help out. smile  Weight isn't really my issue (thankfully), although I have sense my metabolism starting to slow as I get older.  I exercise to keep my weight in check, manage my stress, maintain my health and give me a few more calories to eat each day, too. This is a great topic Jen! I love the answers smile

I actually was reading the latest Cosmopolitan magazine and they say caffeine is the main cause for dark circles or wrinkles around the eyes. Coffee was the worst one for this as well as sleeping too much. Yes, over sleeping causes headaches and dark circles too. I had no clue!

They suggested, as Jen does, drink lots of water and less caffeine.

Yes, I had no clue either until I read the proven facts in the latest Cosmopolitan. You can probably find it online.

Cosmo was citing some other reliable source, though, right?  Cosmo isn't exactly where I'd turn for science. Wink

I have been going to a hot yoga class for over a month now 3-4 times per week.

A lot of people in my life have commented about the visible changes with my body since I've been going.  I wrote a blog about it in case anyone is interested Wink.
