Has anybody read anything by Louise Gittleman?  I picked up her book about perimenopause on the recommendation of a friend, and I was surprised to see she'd written so many wellness/diet books.  Has anybody tried any of her methods?

I'm not done with the book yet, but the gist of the book is that our hormones are out of whack due in large part to our diet.  I almost fell over; this is the same theme of the book I just finished from Jillian Michaels.  I had no idea this book had anything to do with diet.

I'm only 38 and am in perimenopause according to my OB-GYN.  I need to find a way to ease some of the symptoms.

I haven't heard of this author but am curious now.  Will take a look next time I'm at a bookstore.

I finished reading the book and started my new vitamins and minerals.  The idea is to balance our hormones through nutrition, which includes diet, exercise, and appropriate supplements.  The diet is a low glycemic index plan that prescribes the ratio of carb/protein/fat intake.  She touches on eating by blood type, too.

I decided to join Weight Watchers.  I start tonight.

Just an update to say the vitamins are making a clear difference in the condition of my skin and hair!  Hooray!  yippee  Hopefully the rest of the peri-symptoms will soon be eased.
