DD is almost ten and has been planning her birthday party for literally months now. rotf  She's made the invitations and I am having to suppress my need to control that and just let her make them the way SHE wants to.  We're letting her have a slumber party - we've done sleepovers (one person here at a time) but this will be a first for us. eek  She's come up with a schedule for the evening and true to her personality, she has included a time for books and quiet chatting, along with a lights out time. Wink  I'll be curious to see how that all plays out!  big grin

The party's this weekend and she is super excited!  We had an extended family dinner last night, like we usually try to, and that was a lot of fun.  She got to open a few presents, hang out with her family and try out a new Wii game with her cousin.

Slumber parties are such a blast though generally they don't get a whole lot of sleep.  Usually more talking, sharing, girl time which is what makes it so special.  Can't wait to hear how it goes.  Way to go mom clap

It went really well and DD thanked us several times for letting her have the party.  She thought that was her "best birthday ever!"

Now she's away at snow camp until Monday with other elementary-aged kids from church.  She should be there by now - left early this morning!  I miss her. heart
