My goal for July is to run a mile comfortably.  I walk and take ballet, and I hiked fine on our vacation, but I think my heart and lungs could use more of a challenge so I'm going to see how it goes.  Anyone want to join me?

I got out for a walk today and did five minutes of jogging to start working up to my goal.

I'll join you!  I hate running but on the days Willow doesn't have soccer practice we have to run 3 miles with her. (I pray for rain, ha ha)  It's great bonding time though so it's not too bad Wink

Awesome!  I can't do three miles, but maybe I'll work up to it. diva  I'm going out this afternoon after DD goes to ballet.

edited - went out and walked about 2/3 of a mile and then turned around and ran it home.  smile

Just checking in...I did so much heavy yard work yesterday and then still went to ballet last night that I was basically worthless today.  asleep My back and stomach muscles hurt - even the palms of my hands feel bruised. shocked  So I haven't run since my last report, but it's still on my mind before the month is out to run that mile! diva

I've only done the five-minute Wii jog one other time sine my last post!  shocked  All the heavy yard work I've been doing lately has had me feeling really tired.  I need to look at my plan again and see if it's realistic!

I'm not ambitious enough to run, so I will try to keep my goal simple and take my son for a 1/2 hour walk each night if it doesn't rain.

I've been lazy since Willow has been on vacation - not having a running partner = no running Wink
I have hiked Torrey Pines every sunday though...

I love to hike but rarely actually get out and do it around here.  There are some nice hikes out near where I work.

I've done some Wii jogging and am willing myself to get back outside and running for real by the end of this weekend!

Edited to add I looked up Torrey Pines' hiking trails - what a great place to hike!   clap

So I motivated myself to just get out there after dropping DD off at dance.  I ran a little over twelve minutes straight with a 1-minute walking warm-up and another minute or so of cool down.  Altogether I went about a mile and a quarter, so I think a mile is definitely doable for me!  I need to go to the track so that I know when I've gone a mile.

Sad that it's only a mile, but hurray for being able to do it!  yippee
