Money is tight right now, and we canít afford the extra $1,000 a month for health insurance, so we donít have it, for now.

Last month I had some trouble getting my usual Birth Control Pills (OrthoTriCyclen-Lo)... I was/am broke! I didn\'t have $42.00 handy, to re-fill my prescription! I told DH if he ever wanted to have sex again, he would find a way to get it.

He didnít Ö

Now, obviously, getting pregnant with no health insurance is not a good idea. So, I was very worriedÖ

So, when I should have started a new pack of ìOrtho-Tricyclen-Loî, I instead, started a free sample pack of Yasmin, (my friend, a nurse at my OBGYN, had given me FREE samplesÖ)

So, now, I am so screwed up ñ hormonally ñ I donít know how to deal with myself! I think DH is ready to jump off the roof (serves him right) LOL!

But, right now, I would really love to hear how PMS affects other women. Because right now, I have to be setting some sort of PMS record!!! I am having the worst PMS ever right now, and would love to hear how other women have survived their \"most memorableî PMS experiences!

I\'ve been happily taking my Orthocyclen for most of the past 10 years, but a couple months ago I was running low on $ (grad student loan running out, full time job not yet started and no health insurance) so I stopped taking them.

For the first couple months everything was great.  Until last Friday when I woke up with an early period and cramps.

I remember now why I like the pill so much.  It had been YEARS since I\'d had to deal with that.  With the pill I knew the exact day to expect my period, I never had cramps, and it was over quickly.  I\'m planning to pick up a refill asap from the pharmacy.

Reminds me of a (sometimes funny, sometimes not so funny) bit I heard once:

PMS is like a hammer that is going to hit you on the head each month.  So, if you know the hammer is going to hit you on the head, why can\'t you just duck?

hammer   If only it were that simple!

So on Friday while I\'m PMSing (it\'s usually the 1st day of my period that\'s the worst, rather than the days before it) one of my co-workers is all *&%$ at everyone due to her hot flashes.

She was so cranky I was almost glad it was *Just* PMS and not menopause!

 rolleyes

I am major pms-ing this week!  It\'s my first period in 2 years, when I was on the depo shot I never got a period.  It was so nice!!  So 4 days ago I was kicked in the butt with awful cramps, swollen boobs and a miserable attitude.  On top of that, all I want to do is eat!!!!!  Weird stuff too, I normally don\'t eat ice cream very often, but this week it\'s a must have.  Along with cheesecake and chocolate, two other things that I never eat.  I feel so bloated, miserable and fat, fat, fat.  sad
I feel your pain Jenn!  I hope it gets better and I really hope you\'re not pregnant!  ((HUGS))

I'm sure that most of you have not heard about this new thing for period pain.  It's not available in stores as of yet, only online.  Friend of mine told me about it.  It is called the Allay patch.  It's a little device that you wear during your period.  It produces radio frequency waves reduce not only the pain but also the bloating.  I've only used it for one period but it really seemed to reduce my pain.

I moved to a country that doesn't have the bc that I like, the nuva ring. My husband and I haven't had sex in 5 months. I tried taking the pill but only lasted a month and a half because the side effects were so bad. I couldn't keep food or even liquid down and on top of my awful moods swings with pms. It got even worse, it gets so bad that I try to stay away from people. Not because of what I may say but what they will say because I get super sensitive and also want to tear everyones heads off lol. With the pill it was like that the entire time I took it, and it was also the same with the ring. But it wasn't bad enough to stop taking it and the symtoms went away after 3 months. I cried constantly about nothing and gained 10 pounds the first month without actually eating more. Then the second month I was eating everything in sight or wanting to along with the crying lol. My husband is a saint for putting up with me.
