I am reading a book called The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint.    I haven't had much time to read lately. I need to get back into it.

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie at the Diva Tribe. Since I love to read I thought I'd pop on on this subject and post what I'm reading right now. I read in wide variety of genres, but mostly paranormal and romance. And, I have a bad habit of reading three or four books at once, trying to read a chapter or two from every book each night.

Here's my new list of what I'm reading now:

Tender Torment (an older historical by Jane Archer)
The Bronze Horseman by Pauline Simons, very good book set in Russia during the war.
Drawn Into Darkness, paranormal by Anette McCleeve
An Indecent Proposal by Emma Wildes

I'm also a romance writer so naturally I gravitate to those type of books, but enjoy talking all books. Please feel free to stop by author web site and sign up for monthly newsletter if you like. I give away three books every month.

Hope you're all having a wonderful New Year so far. I'm in the Midwest and it's very, very cold here right now, a good time to hunker down with some great books.

Nice to meet everyone, Keta Diablo

The more I read Wicked (almost done) the more I wonder how the musical compares.  Has anyone seen it?  There is so much in terms of politics and sexuality in the book that I wonder how that got translated to the musical??

I haven't had time to read anything lately. Maybe when the kids go back to school, I will be able to read a few good books.

Believe it or not, I'm reading (or rereading) the "Feminine Mystique".  For those who have never heard of it, it's a book written in the height of the feminist movement, in the late '60's or early '70's.  I had a hardcover copy many years ago but it disappeared, but just yesterday I was in a used book store and there was a paperback copy, it just jumped off the shelf at me, I was so happy to see it.  If you ever get the chance to read it, you surely won't be disappointed.  It should be compulsery reading for every woman.

I just started reading "In the Kitchen" by Monica Ali.
She's the author of one of my favorite novels, the fascinating "Brick Lane".
The cast is made up of the kitchen staff of an English restaurant where one of the employees is found dead.  It's a bit of a mystery, but mostly about the plight of the restaurant manager, who seems to start losing control of everything in his life.  I only just started it but it's promising.  And it takes place in London, one of my favorite cities in the world.
Brilliant prose by Monica Ali, but I didn't expect anything less.

I've recently read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire, and will read the third of those books next.  On vacation I read some thrillers that were OK, but nothing all that memorable - one was called Alone and one was Look Again.

One other vacation read was Think of a Number - it was a debut novel for the author and was pretty good.

I'm reading The Girl who Played with Fire now. I found it an easier start than The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, maybe because I already knew the main characters.

I saw a segment on TV about the author, and how he died before his books gained popularity, and the debate and speculation that his life-long girlfriend had co-authored the books. Anyway, it was in interesting piece, so it spurred me to read the books! So far I am enjoying them.

Jen - did you read the 3'rd one?

I started the third one and am about 100 pages into it I think.  Book 3 picks up right where book 2 leaves off...

I'm reading Neil Gaiman's Fragile Things right now. It's a collection of short stories. I might stop reading it for a while once I receive a book that I ordered off Amazon - Complete Collected Poems of Maya Angelou. =)

I started a book called Beautiful Lies - mystery/drama, decent but not a favorite.  Still, I'll finish it to see how it all ends...

I just finished Miss Garrote by Victoria Newhope. I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I couldn't stop reading.  smile It's a brilliant book. I'm positive that you will like it. I bought it only for 99 cent at amazon. Can't believe it's that cheap. My boyfriend is reading it now. He said he never read books like that. He's is a bookworm.
