Some of you who have been here for  while know that I like budgets. smile  I also really like the You Need a Budget spreadsheet system and have used it for 2 or 3 years now.  In the lefthand column there's a YNAB banner, and there's a link at the bottom of each page.  If you're curious or feel the need to better track your spending and stay accountable to yourself, check it out! thumbs up

Is YNAB compatible with iwork pages, or do have to use excell? After I made the switch to Mac, I never went back to any MS products or software. ; )

I don't know, but I use it with Open Office (I left all the microsoft stuff behind as well!).  You could check the FAQs at the site, or send an email to Jesse, the owner.  He's really nice and very helpful.

I will definitely check that out.  I have been wanting to start a budget but have had no idea how and my own systems have been too complicated to maintain.  Thanks for the tip!

I started my budget yesterday.   eek  I see where I can make changes, though, so that's good.  Tough, tough choices to be made!

I am a fan of budgets, though I admit it's hard to stick to one when you're self-employed (I'm a real estate investor that owns a few rental properties) and your income varies drastically from month to month.
When I first graduated college and wanted to move out of my parents' house, I sat down and wrote out a complete budget and it allowed me both to move out and buy a car, and my life got better INSTANTLY. ;-)
Cheers,
