I'd love to start compiling ideas here for green crafts/gifts to make during the next year.  If you come across an article, blog post, etc that fits this thread, please come back here and share it.  Thanks!  I'd particularly like (personally) practical things that are also reusing or re-purposing items in some way.

Hey Jen,

If you can crochet or knit this is a great site that uses plastic bags to make reusable items like bags, rugs, etc...

If only I could crochet or knit. Lol smile

Thanks for the suggestion - I have actually done that before, crocheting a bag out of plastic bags.

My friend has made a couple of these and people always comment on them.   She says they are great for produce especially.

Here's another how-to for t-shirt bags - same idea.

I made one of these yesterday from an old t-shirt of mine.  From a utilitarian point of view, it's great and completely functional.  I think though that to be really excited about it I'd want to doll it up somehow. But I like the idea and the ability to transform old t's into usable bags.
