This weekend was the Homecoming Football game & dance at DS's high school - his first real high school events!

He had been "talking" to an older girl, a Sophomore, for weeks and originally was going to take her to the dance. I guess he was feeling pressured by her, so he decided instead to go with a group of guys, and meet up with her at the dance. I was pretty happy about that as I feel there is a big maturity difference between 9'th & 10'th graders - especially between boys & girls.

Anyway, he had a great time at the dance, and danced with 4 different girls, instead of having one monopolize him the whole time.

Afterwards he and his guy friends all went to eat at the local diner - because all of us Freshmen parents agrees that they were too young to go to the upper class homecoming parties!

I have to admit it felt sort of strange "waiting up" for DS to get home at 11:45 - that is going to take some getting used to as he gets older!
