Yesterday I took a ladies basic handgun class at a local sporting club. It was so informative, and a lot of fun. The first 2 hours were in a classroom, where we learned about firearm safety, and local, state, & national firearm laws. Then we spent 2 hours on the shooting range getting individual instruction.
Although I brought DH's 9 mm handgun, I got to shoot a lot of different types an styles, because Smith & Wesson sponsored the class, and supplied at least 25 different handguns for us to use. There was an instructor with each gun, who showed us how to use them, and helped us improve our aim.
They were all really helpful, and by the end of the class, I was consistently shooting the center of the target! I feel a lot more confident, and comfortable handling DH's gun now.
Although, I do have to admit, my shoulders and upper arms are screaming today! Some of those guns were a lot heavier & larger caliber than DH;s, and they kicked like a mule!
