This news story caught my eye. A 47 year old man was shooting a high power rifle at a shooting range, when he apparently decided to turn in to a total moron and shot into the sky - over the 70 foot barrier behind the range. His bullet traveled for 1.6 miles and struck a pregnant woman on the back of a motorcycle on the interstate.

THe poor woman had no idea what happened, and was surprised when the DR at the ER removed a bullet from the side of her waist. Fortunately, it did not harm the baby.

As it turns out, both DH and I knew the guy years ago! He never was the sharpest tool in the shed. After the investigation traced back to him, he was charged with 2 felonies, and fortunately, he will never be allowed to own a firearm again.
