The other night I accidently cut my finger working in the garden. After the bleeding stopped, the doorbell rang. Some neighbor kids were walking dog's to raise $ for Animal Friends. Our Dog is going blind in one eye, and basically hates everyone in the world besides us. I did not feel comfortable sending him out with them alone, so I walked with them.

Anyway, while we were walking, in the dark, I didn't realize that my finger had started to bleed again, and I wound up getting blood all over my FAVORITE shirt. 

I called my sister and asked her if there was any hope of salvaging a light colored, cotton shirt with several bloodstains. She gave me what sounded like very strange advice - but it actually worked!

She told me to spit on the bloodstains and rub them out with a paper towel. She said since it was my blood, that my spit would remove the stains. I totally thought she was kidding me!

I was totally shocked when it actually worked!

If you every come accross a stain that you cant get out using that tip... which is a great one by the way.. Martha Stewart did a "special" on stain removal a few years back. This thread inspired me to soak a stained shirt I had in a fairly concentrated oxy-clean solution (except it isn't oxy-clean, but it's basically the same thing).  It worked - and I was ready to toss this shirt into the rag pile.    So thanks for inspiring me to give it one last shot.
