Have any of you used freecycle before?  I went on to post a couple of things and saw someone was looking for a push mower.  We have one that we don't need anymore, so we were able to give it to them today.   I just posted some old leotards on there that DD doesn't wear/need.  I was going to use ebay, but I just don't want to deal with it when I won't get much money for them.  We'll see if anyone wants them.

edited to add that I've already had three responses!  shocked

I am signed up for the Freecycle "in my area" but as I live in the Suburbs, most of the listings are too far away for me, and I think that has dissuaded me from listing anything... Besides, in our neighborhood, anything good you put out for the trash usually gets picked up by the "dumpster diver's" first!

I signed up but it's really difficult to keep up with the postings each day.  There are literally hundreds.

We freecycle often. We have had great success with it. It is a great way to get things out of your house that you no longer need that could be used by someone else. Keeps our landfills a little bit less cluttered.

I had good results when I first signed up for freecycle over a year ago but, well, after a while I started to get burned out by the volume of emails and some of the more specific requests that seemed to me more greedy than anything else. People around here tended to get very specific with their 'wants' and it started getting to me so I unsubbed.

I have actually heard that is one of the major downsides with that site.
