Ale's school had a special ceremony for kids that made the honor roll this year...it was something very simple; not a school-wide event, but a ceremony just for the kids that made the honor roll and their families...very "graduation-like", with the kids sitting in the first rows and the families in the back...The principal made the kids give thanks to God, first (of course, since it's a Christian school), and also made them thank the parents (she actually had them turn around and applaud the parents, because it is through our involvement that the kids can excell, she said)...the kids then got their diplomas and lots of applause from the parents and teachers, too!
Ale was very excited...but, when her class was called, her name was not mentioned!...I flagged the teacher and told her...turns out, someone had misplaced Ale's diploma and left it in the principal's office! ...she nearly started crying when they got to the High Honor roll students (those with 90 or above grades, and with "Excellent" on their social skills evaluations) and her name still didn't get called.... The ceremony was just about to end when the coordinator walked in with her diploma, and the principal explained the mix-up, so all was well in the end....
I just had to brag!
