I went to my neighbor's candle party on Saturday night, and I got tricked in to hosting one!  hammer

We played this "game" - the candle Lady gave everyone 2 pennies, and said we could each buy a candle, under the candles were messages, supposedly to win a "free gift". Well, the "free gift" message under each candle was really $50 credit towards free stuff IF you host a party....

I would have backed out of it, but I felt bad for my neighbor because only 4 people came to her party, and really the only way those things pay off is if a lot of people come and buy stuff, or you get a booking at your party.

So, now I am hosting one myself at the end of the month. Fortunately, most of the people I know haven't been hit up by one of these in a while, so I am hoping for a decent turnout so I can earn enough credit to justify the whole thing! I am also planning on serving some strong Margaritas in order to loosen peoples wallets! J/K!!! (Sorta!)

The drinks for sure loosen the wallets!   big grin  Find out when your neighbor's order is placed.  If you have to spend more than $50 to host, it's not worth it for the $50 in free product.  If your neighbor's order is already in, then she still gets the free stuff for you booking a party at her show, and you can cancel your show and save yourself the trouble.  hee hee hee  I'm bad.....I know.......   devil

I've been invited to a few parties here and there like that and I've always turned them down.  Now you've given me another reason to keep on declining!  bouncing lol  Hope it works out for you.

I have played that card before - and apparently else did too - because they changed the whole hostess reward program - now they cannot get their $$$ until After the booked show is completed!

So far I have 40 people on my guest list - I figure if only 1/2 come - that is still 20, which would be a decent return! Now I just have to clean my house, put a million toys away, and get everything in order...

This will be a nice excuse for my aunts, cousins, and old friends who have never been here to visit!

I tend to avoid those kinds of parties like the plaque.  Although I have heard from several friends who have gone, that the "sex toy" parties are a pretty good time.  I seem to only be invited to these for people I don't know well at all which is another reason I don't go!

As a part-time candle lady myself (yes, I am my own best customer  bouncing lol) the $50 credit is nice, but the best part is that at each party that is spun off of yours directly you also can get an additional $50 in candles for $9.95 plus tax.

So make sure the friend that hosted the party you went to places her $50 order for $9.95 at your party.

Actually, part of the "gift" was that the $9.95 is waived, so I get the $50 for free from any party spun off of mine, and my friend who had the party will get $50 free at my party! I am actually looking forward to it now that my house is clean and presentable.

I have invited 37 people so far, figuring I may get 15 -20. Ironically, the first 3 RSVP's I received were from old high school friends, who recently moved back to town, and until now, I had not had an excuse to get together with! A couple of people I invited cannot come, but are using the online catalog to place an order anyway.

You should see my "wish list" so far - I am totally in love with the entire Global Fusions Collection! I am also very interested in a few of the wall hanging candle holders - after remodeling a few rooms, and relocating furniture, I have several spaces that could use a really nice sconce.

My candle party was last night. It was so much fun! It turned out to be a nice size group. It was neat because no one really knew each-other, they just knew me, but everyone seemed to really hit it off, and by the time it was over everyone was chatting like old friends!

4 of the ladies at my party booked parties, and I wound up with $340 in credit!  It was totally worth it - I got everything on my "wish list" and then some!

Having the party was a really good excuse to get my house clean and presentable, and to get together with friends!

Box #1 of 3 arrived today! I am glad the last box is scheduled to arrive Friday, that will give me the whole weekend to sort everyones things!

Unfortunately, a glass coconut/chocolate diffuser broke inside the box, so now my entire first floor has a very intense aroma of cookies, and is making me hungry!
