I have really been trying to eat more healthy foods, and cut out bad snacks. It is tough, because we have a customer who works for a snack distributor, and is constantly bringing us huge boxes full of bags of potato chips and Slim Jims!

I snack on cheese cubes & Wheat thins a lot, but I am looking for other options.

Any suggestions?

Almonds are a good choice.
Lots of yummy summer fruits are ripe now!

*Carrot sticks with hummus
*Almonds, dried apricots and some whole grain crackers
*Apple slices with peanut butter
*Air-popped popcorn with shaved parmesan
*1/2 c low-fat yogurt (I really prefer organic because it's got like 5 ingredients and no artificial anything) with sliced strawberries (purchased frozen and then stored in the fridge so they are ready to go)

and those 100-calorie packs of rice cakes and such are pretty good snacks on their own.

Thanks for the ideas! I love apple slices with peanut butter mixed with a little bit of honey!

granola, almonds and yogurt.  It's my favorite snack.

I also like to fill up bags at Trader Joes or Henry's of trail mix and nuts.

Blueberry smoothies are great too.  I have one of those magic bullets that I got for xmas last year and I through in some blueberries, some soy milk and a handful of ice.  Instant treat!

Thanks for starting this thread!  Inspired, I made a smoothie for breakfast with soy milk, fresh strawberries, frozen blueberries and some home-grown raspberries from my mom that I'd frozen a month ago.  Yummy!

Hey Ya'll...

Well, I'm a blogger for Prevention.com and I recently wrote an article on snacks that you can take to the movies.  I think it might be handy anywhere.

Check it out when you get a chance...let me know what you think!
