I'm not at my desired weight and it's not as easy as I thought it would be to lose weight.  By some standards I'm not that big, but by my own standards I'd like to be smaller!

So ladies, I ask:

Diet Pills: Are they a do? or do NOT?

Hi nerdy - welcome to DivaTribe. smile

I saw on the goals thread that you mentioned your road to sobriety.  Given that, I'd say you should stay away from the diet pills.  Stick to diet and exercise and lifestyle changes that promote a healthy weight you can maintain.  It isn't fast and easy, but it works. hug

I agree, diet pills in general are not a good idea because it keeps you from developing healthy habits for the rest of your life. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change smile Good luck and hang in there!

This is definitely a tricky subject.  I go to a reputable doctor who prescribes diet pills.  Based on past experience...if I eat for emotional reasons...the diet pills have no effect.  Recently, with my emotional issues under control, the diet pills truly help with my overactive physical hunger.

Some of us really do need a little help physically...but listen to your body and soul.  Emotional hunger is much more difficult to supress than physical hunger.  Learning the difference between the two is a lifelong struggle, but success is possible. Be strong and good luck with your efforts!

I used diet pills as a teen. When I was 18 years old I came down with a weird blood disorder called Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. the doctors didn't know where or why it came but there were links between people who used diet pills and blood disorders. I don't know if today's pills are formulated the same but I would stay away from them like the plague.
I use a nutrition bar that's all natural instead and it has crave blocker, so that I don't snack too much. I also use a nutrition bar that helps me burn fat naturally without chemical when I exercise. I really don't believe in taking any product that's filled with chemicals and has side effects that could actually kill you like it almost did when I was 18.
