Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

There is a SAHM in my neighborhood who has 2 sons, the same exact ages as both of my sons. Our sons have always wound up in the same classes, and now our younger sons have become very good friends.

Anyway, after all of these years of standing at the bus stop, sitting through chorus concerts, parent/teacher breakfasts, etc, she has gone out of her way to be-friend me!

She is probably about 13 years older than me, and is very good friends with a new neighbor who is my age, but is a SAHM whom I have never had the chance to get to know at all.

A few weeks ago she left me a message inviting me to have breakfast with them after the younger kids got on the bus. I accepted, and had a great time! I found that we have a ton in common - aside from the kids, we like the same music, and many other things. This week, she called and left me a message inviting me to meet them for lunch - leaving the day and time up to me - as I am the only one who works outside the home.

So, I met them for lunch today. It was so nice to talk with other women, other moms, and I think I laughed more than I have in ages!

That's great! It's hard for me to meet new people myself, especially with my hectic work schedule during the week.  I had lunch out yesterday though with two friends from my neighborhood. It was fun. We made another date to go out after work for dinner on Friday. At least that gives me something to look forward to!
