Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

DD just seems really fatigued lately.  She wanted to come home early today and doesn't want to go to ballet today.  She's grown about an inch in the last three months and hasn't been getting more than about 9-9.5 hours of sleep most nights for the past couple of weeks.  She's complained about her stomach hurting off and on the past three days, too.  Does this sound like a kid who just needs some down time? Dh and I have been going in fifty different directions ourselves, so I'm sure that's affecting her, too. Sad hammer

Both of my boys have gone through periods like that while having a growth spurt. They would be very cranky and tired, and then suddenly, a week or two later I would realize they were 2 inches taller! Now I  know if my 8 year old DS ever takes a nap, he must be growing!

I bet if she takes a little down time, she will feel better, though maybe taller!

she's been in and out of bed all night and then threw up a little bit, a little while ago.  Can't tell what's going on. Sad

she threw up several times, so she's definitely got a bug or something...not fun at all.

She seems a lot better.  She was so bored yesterday - we kept her home all day, so she missed ballet and a special event downtown that her studio was involved in.  Sad  She was bummed.  But the rest seemed to be what she needed, and she was asleep by 8:30 last night, too.

I think she's pretty much back to normal now.  We'll see how she does after a full day of school, but she seemed fine this morning.  She was tired last night, though and still seeming a tad worn out.

If your DD exhibits those same bone tired symptoms and nausea and then complains of a sore throat...take her to the doctor to have her blood checked to rule out that she doesn't have mono.

We had a bit of a scare today with DD.  She seems fine now.  Earlier today in PE, she fell off the bike she was riding.  She didn't remember everything that happened but she and the PE teacher said she didn't hit her head.  She seemed off during lunch, and at about 1:40 she vomited once.  I got her and took her to the doctor straight from there.  He checked her out and said a CT scan wouldn't be needed, that she wasn't displaying any other signs of concussion.  She was wearing a helmet, of course.  She's been resting at home and seems OK, aside from being shaken up by the whole thing.  No more vomiting and her energy seems better.  She complained about being bored at one point, which is always a good sign.  She had some Top Ramen and lemon lime soda for dinner.

She's had a tough couple of weeks and had to miss ballet again today, which bummed her out.

hug I know how hard that is. It seems like they take a lot of hard knocks at that age! I hope she pulls right through it and feels better tomorrow.

Poor thing.   heart  Do they think she has a virus that's causing her not to feel well and vomit?
