Am I lame for not "getting" this site?  Why is it fun?  What is the appeal?

I found Lara there btw. And we both seem to have exactly one update, so I guess you didn't glom onto it right away either.  

didn't mean to stalk you!  there was an option to search my gmail address book and you came up is all.

I figured out how to send updates from my phone, but I still don't see the fascination.  Who out there cares what I'm doing at any given moment?

  Literally a few minutes ago, before I logged into DT, I just figured out how to use text msg with my twitter.  I even put my twitter summary on my own website.

BF and I share a car, and sometimes BFF can give me a ride, so now instead of call/text/email to each one, I can show them how to follow me on twitter and then I can keep them posted (did I catch my bus, do I need a ride) no matter where I am -  - with only one message and not several.

I gave it a 2nd look after reading a blog for work (Stephen's Lighthouse) where there's a link to a good youtube video called "twitter in plain english".  Neat little summary about why you'd want to use it.
