It is no secret to those in my life that I have am always in motion. Sleep is something that happens for but a few hours any given night. I live in a constant state of stress. Not the kind that gives you that push you need to get up in the morning and get things done. But rather the kind that can seriously hurt you.

Well it caught up with me. Monday evening I was taken to hospital with chest tightness that radiated to my jaw. I was so scared. No wait.. terrifed. that I would not come back from the hospital. My husband took on an amazing nuturing role. I was so scared. The tightness becoming stronger and not being relieved by anything. Two hours into this ordeal, my blood pressure started to lower, when we had arrived it was well over 177/99 which is not wonderful to say the least.

We left the hospital 7 hours later with the wise words of the doctor, that I needed to remain as stress free as possible and a blood pressure of 119/59. So I have been trying to relax, breath and stay calm.

Which is easier said than done with two  teenage boys, and an excitable spirit. I am still so scared, I watch how fast I even move to do things.. trying to calm my every move.

This was the scare of my life, being that I am only 31 and in good health. So please take of yourself out there.  diva love

I agree. My husband sounds similar to the way you describe yourself. I've been encouraging him for awhile to see a doctor, and to even possibly consider medication to calm himself down a bit.

He pretty much has a high-strung personality in general, and the stress of managing his own business, as well as just dealing with day to day life stressors...........I really worry that he's going to blow a gasket one of these days.

This topic makes me want to address this with him again tonight Wink.

I have been resting some of the last week ... let me just say.. staying calmish.. when you have an excitable spirit is easier said than done... I am hoping to get into see a Dr and get a script for something to help.

We come down this morning ready to face the day with a puddle on our counter  eek A lil history...We live in Canada... and the contractor that built this place placed all the water pipes and drains on a north facing wall that gets mininal sunlight if any and there is minimal insulation. Seeing the problem? Water freezes! Usually my hot water for days at a times at least 6 times a winter. So as it stands right now, we rent. We have been living with various holes in the walls to allow for what they can ventilation.

Well sometime between when hubby and I went to bed at 11ish and when we came down this morning. The U trap of the tub drain cracked and voila... a bird bath on my kitchen counter. The insulation the plumber put in the beginning of January  is sopping wet  pulling hair oh yes it is soaking into the dry wall  angry.. Remember here.. I am suppose to be calm and as stress free as possible  blue flower not happening but i am trying.

I call the property manager who calls a different plumber( because the one that has been dealing with it doesnt have emergency hours) who decideds he isnt coming out ... because another plumber has the work order. Did I mention yet that they have not even so much as called in over a month, and that I called them a week and half ago because my drain was frozen over and I was told to put rock salt down it ... and rince it really well ... and not even a call to check in the next day .. NOTHING!!!! So this wonderful plumber from today told us not to use our kitchen for the day... because he and the property manager decided..  pulling hair

OK Property manager  hammer listen very clearly  hammer water puddling on my counter is BAD. hammer Soggy insultion leaning on electrical wires BAD  hammer The fact that we have been dealing with this for almost 4 years without resolution... BAD  hammer

Oh ya, and I cant take a bath tonight, part of my relaxation regiem because I cant use my tub either.  pulling hair

Wheeeeee diva

That is scary! I am very glad to hear that you are ok.  hug I can relate to a lot of what you said - I tend to be pretty high strung and stressed out myself. But, only being 32, I always thought I could handle it. Then recently, I had a pretty bad health scare as well, and my Dr. warned me that stress could be a major trigger for me with an Auto-Immune disorder.

I'm sorry to hear about your plumbing problems, it seems when it rains, it pours, huh?

I am definitely not qualified to give advice about relaxing  tongue but... I know having a nice hot cup of de-caf herbal tea after work on these frigid days helps me to relax. I also find that I feel a lot better when I eat better, and I sleep a lot better when I skip the nightly news!

Please share any relaxation tips you find!

I have found the last few days, if I take many short breaks and make them something special... I feel more relaxed. I tend to indulge in a fat free instant cappuchino.... which I sprinkle cinnimon on.. with the hopes that with time cinnimon will envoke those feeling of relaxation in me. I also take baths in ebson salts when I have running water in my facets  angry.. I have always made 10 minutes a day where everything is off.. and I am not in bed... no artificial lights, no tv, no radio, no pc, no reading etc.. stimulation free... and lastly .. I talk about things a lot more lately.. as I am finding out having people to support me and care about me to be a shoulder, a voice or a typed word helps more than I can put into words.
