What stores were you shopping at? I find that a lot of clothes these days are not made for the average woman, but either for someone who is really tiny or really tall.  Nothing for us in-betweens.

I agree  -  depending on where you go clothes fit completely differently
like a gap 10 vs a j crew 10

After the holidays my belly is hanging  over my 12;s.
I absolutely hate shopping for myself

I live in jeans and t-shirts.  I have to be the most underdressed person I know.

Been trying to loose the same 20 lbs for 2 years.

Take care,
Annie

I agree.  Who are all these girls and women wearing jeans in such small sizes but such LONG lengths?  It's ridiculous.

I've even heard that depending on what coast you are on, the sizes vary at Old Navy!!!

For instance, I might fit into a 10 in their jeans here in NY..........a friend in Cali who is my size or bigger wears their size 4's.

thank you girls for your kind words.. i feel a lot better knowing there are other people out there going through my struggles. i've been tuning into lifetime actually and watching a program called "how to look good naked" - this show is imperative in teaching young woman to love their bodies whether with clothes on or not...

Agree!  Agree!!! smile flower

I confess that, for most of my life, I was skinny, and so I used to LOVE going clothes shopping and sort of collecting favorite pieces of clothing to wear in different combinations.  NOW, I find that I have gained post-menopause weight, even though I have almost always been careful about exercise and diet.  Now, I get very depressed when I go clothes shopping.  Well, at least its GREAT motivation for me to stick to an exercise regimen!!  bouncing lol

That is so true! And, every store has different sizing! I have a pair of Diesel jeans, Euro size 26, that fit - so I bought a pair of Von Dutch jeans, Euro size 29, on Ebay & I could not even pull them up past my knees!  devil

US size 6 jeans fit, except for the fact they are always an entire foot too long! Seriously - how many size 6 women are 6 feet 2 inches tall?!

I have the hardest problem finding jeans that fit me right. I have even bought jeans that fit, but are too long, and had my sister hem them for me. But, then the cut is not right, and they look weird. It is so frustrating!

agreed. How to look good naked is amazing. I've changed my attitude on clothes shopping since watching it and i making a more conscious effort to focus on finding clothes that flatter my shape better.

likewise. The biggest thing i've taken away from that show is try to spend more time thinking about what will fit me better instead of going after every cute thing i see on the rack and trying to squeeze into it. I feel like i'm finally shopping smarter.
