Ale has been complaining that she's "the worst" at ball plays (be it soccer, basketball or volleyball) in her class...I WAS "the worst" at most ball games...prompting my PE teacher to once say: "Don't be afraid of the ball, it won't bite!"  shocked  ...however, I was not THAT bad at soccer....not a star, but at least I could lead the ball- and do a good steal once in a while....so, I thought this is something that I can help Ale with....and went online to the local dept. store to see if they had a soccer ball...I looked for it under "toys" and couldn't find one, then I said: duh, it must be under "sports"...there are three sub-categories: outdoors (featured a "pool raft" for 4), machines (didn't even bother with THAT one) and "Miscellaneous"...I figured I could find a ball in there...guess what?...they had 9 items: either mini- soccer tables or pool tables or combinations of up to 19 game tables...so, this is "sports" now?...I'm disappointed!...I mean, I have been to the store and I KNOW they have stuff for "real" sports, and I know the main reason they don't advertise them in the website is 1)they are not as expensive as those tables and 2) someone looking to buy via the net is probably more interested in game tables than in "real-life" versions of the sports, but, still.... ((sigh)) just ranting...I'll just try to get a ball in the right size in any of the stores near the office...they can't be THAT expensive (although, I would have liked to have an idea of how much it was going to cost!)

I know exactly how you feel! DS has grown like 5 inches in a year, needless to say, none of his LAX gear was fitting him properly for Winter session.

We went to the "Sporting Goods Store" They had 1 Helmet (in the wrong color for his school) They had NO Pads, and NO Gloves. They said "Well, we don't stock that stuff during the off season." I asked "do you know of a single competitive team that does not have a Winter Session to keep their players conditioned?" He replied "Well... No... But we just don't have the space."

So, I look around, and there is literally 1500 Square feet of the "Sporting Goods Store" dedicated to Pool Tables, Air Hockey machines, Dart Boards and the like! Seriously!

I had to order his real "Sporting Equipment" Online, without the chance for him to try it on because the "Sporting Goods Store" apparently does not carry "Sporting Goods" anymore!
