Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

Leave your wallet at home!  hammer

I stopped for gas and realized I didn't have my wallet.  I put it in my bag last night before class and forgot to put it back in my purse.  So, while it meant not putting gas in the car, it also meant not stopping for coffee. Wink

Good point! Many personal financial blogs I read recommend not carrying debit cards in your wallet, but only a certain amount of cash for the week, and when it's gone, it's gone.

I see where you're going with this, but one of the things that I like about using my debit card is that I can go back and see exactly what I spent, for what and where, not just today or next week, but next month, or even next year.  It's very hard to do that if the only entry that shows up is a lump sum withdrawal.

I agree about tracking one's money, although writing it down or using a tracking software is just as useful.  I use two (but I like fooling around with budgets and such): You Need a Budget and Quicken.

I like using my credit card for most purchases for the reason JenniS said - I can look back and see where I spent money in case I forget to record something.

My original post was tongue in cheek to a certain extent - I needed gas in the car and hadn't intended on leaving my wallet at home. Wink

I use

www.clearcheckbook.com

to track my finances.  There's another online site, I think it's www.mint.com or something like that that's supposed to be even better!
