Anyone interested in starting one? I read about this through MSN money. I think they call themselves the "women in red" and cheer each other on in this area and offer great savings/debt payment tips.

I just read about the MSN women in red!  What's the club concept?  Is it like encouragment, etc., or (?)

I am really interested in hearing more about this.

We took on a lot of personal debt to start our business, which has us so far away from where I would like to be savings-wise it is scary. Then on top of that, I am just waiting for the student loan people to come and repossess my brain!  hammer

I manage the money end of our household and our business. DH is prone to buying things spur of the moment - I will only buy something if we really need it.

I think the only way we will ever save $ is if I just do without telling DH!

Yeah, from what I have seen. I also think they are supposed to 'fess up if they really fall off...........that way the pressure from the "group" will make them stick to things more.

I think on the MSN site they all actually gave their amount of debt starting out in numbers too. I don't know how comfy people are with that though!

I am 100% up for this!! I am constantly searching online for women run investment/support clubs and there are a serious LACK of them Sad

I propose that we not only stay accountable to each other but list out our plans and bounce ideas off of one another...

I think it could be similar to a weight-loss thing except (for once) Wink we want to gain instead of lose!!

who's with me?    queen  big grin

I've heard good stuff about that book.  He's the one who basically said keep $$ for an emergency fund, and everything else, pay off your debt?

I may be interested..........I have one more Harry Potter book to finish first!

I'm interested in the club too.  Right now I'm trying to position BF and myself to be able to buy a house, now that prices are coming down in So. Cal. where we live.

Our debt-to-income ratio is ok, but I have some credit cards that are maxed out and they need to be 50% of the balance or less to improve my credit score.  Plus I'm trying to make sure payments are on time.
