on a rampage.  a good one, I guess but I tend to go overboard when I'm obsessing about something.  lol

I am now the landlord of 1 large cat who belongs to one very lovable girl.
Wink

BUT I am allergic to the cat and the cat has decided he needs to be next to me at all times (I'm not kidding you, I think the cat has a THING for me - like a real love affair... wouldn't it just be my luck if my soul mate had reincarnated into this cat instead of a man)  ha ha.. ok, I regressed.

Anyway - I'm allergic to the cat, I'm sick of sneezing and sniffling and my asthma has come back, ugh.  It really upsets me because I'd love to live in t-o-t-a-l harmony with all the occupants of the house Wink

I was doing some searching on the internet and have bought some allerpet solution that I can wipe the cat off with.  I bought some good hair picker-upper rollers and I think I'm going to take the jump into having the cat be an indoor/outdoor kitty.  (He has been before and I"m sure as soon as they get a taste of the wild-outdoors they aren't ever entirely happy indoors)

I don't really have a good back door to have a kitty door so I bought a window insert that I think is going to work... I hope is going to work.

Does anyone else have any good allergy ideas?

I have heard that the allergies actually are to the cats saliva, not the actual hair, but cats are always cleaning themselves! I have noticed that my indoor/outdoor cat seems to clean itself a lot more than my indoor cat, maybe he feels "dirty" after being outside? But, he is much happier being indoor/outdoor.

My Mom is allergic, but she let me have a short hair cat in high school. I gave it weekly baths (which is not fun unless you start bathing it as a kitten!) and it went outside a lot, and she was only bothered by it a little in the winter when the cat stayed inside all of the time.

If you find anything let me know! My neighbor adopted a kitten only to find that her teenage son is allergic. Now, her "outdoor" cat basically lives on my backporch and runs in to my house to eat my cats food everytime we open a door! hammer

Good Luck!

FWIW I'm mildly allergic to cats and acquired a cat from my sister cat but over time the symptoms have become less.
