I really think the issue is with the person's profile and not with what computer or operating system they're using. 
I use just about every different kind of computer and operating sys from here to work and it's the same across the board even if I choose remember me and remember cookies and passwords on the computer. 

I don't know if that helps but that was my last idea on what was possibly happening ---- knowing very little about it lol
