Have you ever felt you were given more work solely because you're single? Single people are more than likely to be sent out on business trips than married individuals. Is this fair? Read up on how you can prevent your single status from ruining your career here:

I thought this was a good piece of advice in the article:

I could not agree more that single people (especially single women!!!) are treated differently.

Also, when a single woman has/gets a partner, but is not married, it's still much the same as being totally single.

I'm divorced and formerly had a husband/stepkids, then was totally single, and now have a BF, so I really recognize the difference in attitudes between the different stages.
