Very last minute we decided to invite some friends over for a 4'th of July Barbecue!

Luckily, I had shopped well, and was able to pull off Sirloin, Red Pepper, Onion and Mushroom Shish-ka-bobs, Marinated Steaks, Onion Hamburgers, Red Potatoes, and Grilled Zucchini, Yellow Squash and Pineapple on the Grill. My friend brought an awesome salad and we ate like kings!

Later, after the feast was done, we went to watch to local fireworks. We knew they would be shooting them off near our shop, and planned on going there to watch. Well, when we pull up and the Fire Dept. had the street blocked off 50 ft before our shop, and the actual Pyrotechnics were about 350 ft away!

So, anyway, when we pulled up and they tried to stop us - saying it was a "Red - no public access zone"!

We then explained that they were blocking access to OUR shop which is located right across from where they were planning on setting off the Fireworks.!Then some of the firemen recognized DH and Said "Yeah, that's Roppa - and that's his shop!"

Still, they did not want to let us through. DH told them that "I have to be there to protect my shop! We are not taking NO as an answer! We are going to watch the fireworks from our shop" even if it was "a no public access zone!"

It was awesome! It was like we had VIP tickets to the best Fireworks display in town! It was so cool, there were no crowds to deal with  - we turned on the shop stereo, pulled out our chairs and relaxed watching the most 3-dimensional fireworks display ever!

So, I am afraid we may have started a new tradition. Although, only for a tight knight few! We swore everyone to secrecy, we do not want a bunch of people showing up next year and ruining our private Fireworks spot!

What a cool 4th!     We watched a parade that DH's band played in and then went to a backyard party at his drummer's house.  Very fun!
