Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

Hi, all. My name is Kat, and I'm not only new to this forum, but to forums in general. My newfound hobby is blogging-and I'm finding it addictive! I'm a single mom (extraordinaire!) to a 10-year-old son, and together we raise our menagerie of dogs and cats. I just bought a house and am fully in the remodeling fever. My hobbies are mountain biking, running triathlons (just baby ones so far, although I'd like to work up to an Ironman), reading, and hanging out with my son. I'm dating a wonderful man who likes to cook and clean and fix things around my house  big grin I dig the quirky in everything.

I was very glad to find DivaTribe-it just gives off this aura of power with femininity. I've haunted the message boards for the past few days, and am especially into the ones on personal finance (I just started a money group with my girlfriends). I love meeting new people-I'm glad I'm here!

So what's your latest remodeling project?  I need some inspiration... I want to give my house a facelift, and don't even know where to begin!!

Latest remodeling project is a little half bath. New paint, new vanity and sink, new mirror, and VOILA! New room! Once I'm done with the half bath, I'm putting in new interior doors and molding. The doors are the biggest expense, but it's a great way to update without redoing everything.

I love remodeling. Great ways to get a new "look" without too much expense: paint, new curtains and/or window treatments, new pillows on the furniture, new and interesting baseboards and molding, putting in new drawer and cabinet pulls (super easy!!). Have fun!

Welcome - It is nice to meet you!

I can relate to your remodeling fever. We bought a fixer upper 7 years ago - and it seems there is always a project we are working on! My favorite so far was finishing remodeling our kitchen - it is a huge space so we did piece by piece over the years as $ would allow!  big grin

I am looking forward to getting to know you better!

diva love  Welcome!  I love to fix up houses as well.  The only problem is that I am addicted to realtor.com and keep finding places to start all over.  Right now we are in our log home which we bought a few years ago just for recreation.  We sold the house in Florida and moved here after all the hurricanes.  Nobody told me about the tornadoes here!  At least with a hurricane, you knew where to run!  I have been planting flowers all morning and hauling water to the front entrance where we just put in a flowered entryway.  Not too much fun but good exercise.  Welcome!!!!!!!!
