so, I'm really getting geared up to start moving and planning on my 9 month goal.  I say 9 months because it sounds less intimidating and manageable than a 1 year plan.

My main goal is to buy a house/condo in the next year.  Some things need to be in place before I can do that like moving my car loan into my name (still in xDH's name); saving a portion of my paycheck every payday and putting it into my ING acct savings; spending the necessary money on my health (dental work, etc).

I wanted to make sure my personal values and my monetary goals were in the same place.  There is still so much up in the air with DD living in another city and xDH still not knowing what HIS plans are going to be in the near future.

I had a good talk with my sponsor about all of this and she said that it was a good idea to work toward what's right for me without adversely effecting those close to me and trust in my decisions.  All this living in limbo is not good for the soul and I think if I have set goals for the next 9 months that a lot of other things will fall into place.

I think that seems like sound thinking.  Sometimes we need to take solid, positive action for the universe to hear what we want and support us in those endeavors.  Good luck with it all  hug

Good luck, Lara!  clap

My current financial plan basically is to get rid of the last credit card debt and, repay a personal loan...other than that: be able to pay for Ale's education!!...

doesn't sound like much, but, believe me, it's plenty!! shocked

saving a portion of my paycheck every payday and putting it into my ING acct savings

This has been helpful for me.  I don't think I would save as much if I had to it on my own, but automatic transfers make it just that - automatic, and a part of my budget.  I save $25 a month in a 529 plan for DD, $5 a month in a savings account for her, and $50 a month in an ING account.  It isn't a lot, but it's something, and I do it every month.
