Dear Other Mom,
It is fine with me if you show that you\'re actually not perfect. It is OK if you don\'t have all the answers. It is OK with me if have doubts and insecurities. In fact, I may find it easier to friends with you if you show those things, because it shows that you\'re human, and that you trust me enough to be real with me. If your child is the best in the class, you can tell me. And if your child isn\'t the best, you can tell me that too. And I would hope I can do the same. We aren\'t what our children do. They are their own people, and I hope we can strive to love them for who they are, not what they achieve. When you ask me about my child, I would hope it was out of genuine interest and not some ulterior motive, striving to comapre your child to mine, for better or worse. If you have something to ask me, just ask and trust that if we\'re really friends we can talk about things without pretense.
Thanks for reading.
