Long post - sorry.
The most awkward situation happened Saturday night. David and I went out dancing, and I wanted him to join me in the partner dance lesson because it\'s a dance that I like but he didn\'t know the steps yet.
We\'re standing near the edge of the floor and he\'s hesitant. The nice lady standing nearest to us indicates that there is plenty of room right in front of her for us to join in.
All of a sudden, I look up and realize that her dance partner is bachelor #1 (B1). I\'m sure I had a stupid look on my face, and it felt like I was seeing a ghost - one of those things where I wasn\'t 100% sure my eyes weren\'t playing tricks on me. I didn\'t know what to do, so I just didn\'t say anything at all, and he didn\'t say anything either. It was so awkard.
I didn\'t say anything to David about it, because he would just get upset. I had told B1 several weeks ago that I could not see him anymore because I had met someone else, but since then he has tried to call me twice. The first time he left a message, the second time David was about to pick up the phone and I told him to let it go and told him it\'s a guy I\'m not dating any more and that I didn\'t want to talk to him. The second time he didn\'t leave a message.
I didn\'t relax until B1 and his new date left the dance hall. It was so awkward - I felt bad for not being able to say hello or anything, but I was so startled I really had no idea what to do. Since we both dance there, there\'s always a chance this will happen again, even if it\'s infrequently.
