Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

RANT

I love my parents, but they\'re insane and they\'re making me crazy.

My boyfriend David thinks it would be nice to have dinner with my parents and get to know them.  rolleyes

So I scheduled dinner with them.  Casual - just pizza at their favorite place on Friday night.

I called to ask if I could make that 7 pm instead of 6:30 pm because now I\'ve got to work on Friday and originally I had that day off.  I got the answer machine and left a voice message.

I get an email from Mom saying she got the message and \'we\'ll talk about it\'.  Weirdness.

So I email both Mom and Dad together and let them know that it\'s ok if they want to reschedule, but please let me know if 7pm is ok or if we\'re going to reschedule.

I get this freaky response from Dad that basically says they don\'t want to have dinner because they think it\'s more than just dinner and they don\'t want any \'surprises\' that night.

What the hell?  It\'s JUST DINNER!  And I emailed them both back and told them so, and that we can reschedule.

My email was polite, but I\'m  mad  that they\'re so insane.  Why do they have to turn a such simple thing into major drama?
