Well, we are back home, and we all survived the dysfunctional family vacation! LOL!!! B)

What a crew: My Mom & Dad, brother and his fiancé (who was recently diagnosed with a fatal cancer, and is in excruciating physical pain), sister (who is in the middle of a divorce and is in terrible emotional pain), \"new\" sister (my Dads daughter from his first marriage who he was estranged from for 30 + years), her husband, 2 children, and us! blink

Amazingly, despite the makings for a bad sit-com, it all turned out well! Everyone managed to find things in common, enjoyed eachothers company, and despite a few akward moments, I think everyone had a good time! Even though the weather was horrible, and we were trapped inside 5 out of 7 days, while it rained and the average temperature was 60 degrees! We all ate, drank, and slept a lot! LOL! cheers   Wink

We took a side trip on the way home - in search of the sun! We drove North up the coast, to Nags Head, NC, where the weather was beautiful! Stayed there for 2 days, soaked up some sun, then came home through both the blue ridge and Appalachian mountains, which are amazing and beautiful.

So, now we are home, and I am trying to get back in to the old routine! smile

I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I think the surgery may have worked! I haven\'t seen him fall down, or \"lose\" his left leg -which happened several times each day before the surgery.

He is going to start physical therapy in about a week, so we will see how that goes!

He is really getting frustrated with the recovery though! The weather here is beautiful, and he can\'t ride until the doctor gives him the ok. He is on light duty at the shop, so he is keeping his hands clean & doing paperwork, which he can\'t stand!

It\'s funny, I am so used to his \"mechanic\" smell, and hands that never truly come clean, that his \"clean\" smell, and white fingernails seem very wierd to me!!! LOL!!!
