I am so up and down about exercise.  Sometimes I\'m dedicated, and then months go by with nothing intentional on my part at all.

Anyone else want a check-in thread to state goals and report progress?

I completely understand what you\'re saying about being inconsistant in excersizing, I am the same way.  If I don\'t see results within a few weeks I get frustrated and stop.  It\'s hard to get motivated without seeing physical results.  I can completely relate to what you are saying.
As for keeping a record and doing check-ins, I\'m out!  My excuse of the month is that there is just too much going on lately.  Wink It\'s a good idea though, good luck Jen!

What I need is someone IRL to connect with and check in with.  That would be helpful.  I have one friend that I\'m going to try and walk with once a week, when we can arrange it (she lives in another city).  And then just try and get myself active, even if I\'m the only one who knows I\'m doing it.

I\'ve got a great online personal trainer, and he\'s willing to take on some additional people.  Totally free - it\'s a hobby of his - I met him through an online bulletin board.

We\'ve been doing 5 smaller meals a day (calories based on body weight and personal goals) plus measured amounts of cardio and weights.

So far so good, I\'ve lost a few lbs and I\'m fairly close to fitting into the next size down of jeans.  If you\'re interested let me know and I\'ll get his email address to you.

I\'ll have to give that some thought.

One thing I\'m trying to do is walk more each day in my day to day routine.  I\'ve been parking farther away, walking to local stores, etc.  I walked to the fabric store today and that added a good 2000 steps to my daily total.  It takes a little longer to walk compared to driving, but it isn\'t that much longer.  And time is something I have. Motivation is what I\'m lacking.  Sad

I had to go to the county government center yesterday, and I parked as far out as I could in the lot.  That walking added a great number of steps, and it was walking with a purpose.

I\'m struggling with my weight and I REALLY need some sort of structure.  I\'m like you Jen, I do great for months and then a LONG time goes when I don\'t move at all.

Well, my pilates class went bust, and it got cancelled for good, so, as of today, I\'m walking half an hour every morning...Hopefully, I\'ll stick to it this time!!

I\'m taking all my vitamins and calcium everyday now!

Marissa - do you have any strechy bands?  And a vcr?  If so, I have a brand new pilates vhs tape that uses bands that I\'d be happy to give you.  I bought a kit with a dvd and bands in it, and it had a vhs tape as well that I don\'t need.

I think I need to set some sort of goal for myself if I am going to get into a routine.  I\'ve done my pilates tape once this week, in place of yoga (am taking a couple of months off from my yoga class), and I am going to do it at least once more this week.

Jen,
thanks! I do not have bands Sad

I feel proud of myself today...It is windy and the morning was quite dark ...it took me 5 extra minutes to get myself out of bed, but I made it!...I also walked the same distance in 5 mins less!!

I must confess, I haven\'t been going EVERY day...but, at least I HAVE gone every other day...  :o

Part of it is, I\'m so tired, I go to work 8-6, then 3xweek I give an English class 6:30-7:30 AND THEN go to my cousin\'s for gift wrapping until 9 or 10...but, mainly, these are all excuses, and I KNOW IT!  rolleyes  :o

I have been going every other day, so that\'s more than I used to and, I try to force myself to do some other kind of activity on the days I don\'t go, to sort of make up for it...last weekend, I had 1. the dancing at the party and 2. the long time standing up during the parade.... Oh, well, at least it\'s something!!

I\'ll try to do better next week!

I have never been one to exercise, I am whay you would call... lazy! When I was younger I was super thin and blessed with supernatural  metabolisism!

Yeah, not so much anymore!

I did meet my goal of losing 12 lbs, but I need to work on it if I want to stay that way over the winter!

So, my sister and I are joining Curves together! (We actually persuaded our Dad to buy us the memberships for Christmas!)

A friend of mine did Curves for a while.  I think she liked it at first, but after a while it wasn\'t meeting her needs.  It\'s basically circuit training, isn\'t it?

My current plan is to walk 20 minutes every day, and do pilates or my ballet workout at least once a week as well.  That is well within the range of achievable, if I set my mind to it.
