Our dog freaks out about being brushed or combed, won\'t tolerate us putting flea medication on him, ad would probably freak out with a spray.  Any ideas for dealing with fleas, aside from bathing him (which he does seem to kind of like)?  I have Program tablets, which he will take, but they have no affect on the adult fleas he picks up outside.  I\'m washing his beddnig regularly now.  Any other tips?

try adding some vinegar to his drinking water...that helped a lot when my mom\'s dog got \"infected\" with fleas..

I\'ve only used the toxic stuff on the actual dog - I\'ve never heard of the vinegar trick before but I know for the house nothing worked better than vacumming and then spraying the vacuum bag.  And I tried EVERYTHING - we had such a problem with fleas before. smile

I second what Lara says about the vacuuming for the house.  Just be sure to throw away the vacuum bag - outside of your house - immediately.  I did this for 3 days in a row and the fleas were gone.  I guess the only difference is that my pets are indoor only....but I\'ve got critters who run around the apt. complex and come up to my patio screen, so there\'s still the potential for new fleas to arrive.  BUT....I use Advantage on the cats.   tongue
