Sunday's New York Times had a great list of books recommended by their reviewers.  Some fiction, some non-fiction.  I bet they posted it on their website, too; although I haven't looked.

If you seriously want to look for books Amazon is great. But I have recently been trying to get out of the normal book suggestions of cook books or reccomended reads via sites like that.

I came across an amazing site when I was on the forum and I am already addicted to their gift guide. Not only does it have great book ideas but amazing gifts for the people are are the HARDEST to buy for. Like sable yoga mats and retractible heels! Check out Sweetguides.ca

Any Maya Angelou novel/or poem collection book is a good Christmas gift. They are inspirational. I just love Maya Angelou.
