Because I'm sentimental I save DD's t-shirts.  I thought I'd make a quilt out of them...eventually...but thought it might be fun to try and make a pillowcase out of a few of them for Christmas.   Has anyone done any crafts like this with old tees?  For quilting/blanket purposes I'd probably use some sort of fusible backing on the tshirts before cutting them out and sewing them.  I don't think I'd need or want to do that for a pillow case, though.

Our school does mini-projects int he couple of weeks following winter break, so I'm definitely doing this with 4-5 students.  This link is helping me out -

I'm trying to get my act together and figure out what I need to purchase before Monday and what I can beg, borrow and ...well, that's all. Wink

I did wind up doing this project with several students and they turned out really nice for first-timers, most of whom had never even sewn before.  It gave me confidence to try it DD's old shirts.  I haven't yet, but I will!

LOL!
I also have some t-shirts that Ale couldn't bear to part with (a Save the Sea Turtles one and her First Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt)... so... let me know how it turns out! (my sewing skills are next to non-existant, so....)
