I had fun dressing up for work (and surprised a number of people with my Palin get up!), and DD had fun trick-or-treating last night with a friend from ballet.  Our two families had pizza together afterwards.

I had a wonderful time I dressed up as a prom queen where I volunteer.  My husband was Mr. Forward and Backwards...put shirt on wrong and signs that read I am backwards and Forwards...Passed out candy to trick or treaters and watched TAPS ghost hunters 7 hour special last night...lots of fun and the kids costumes were darling.

We had a very busy, but very fun Halloween! 2 of my friends and I hosted DS's 3'rd grade classroom pizza party. Afterwards, he went over to the next door neighbors pre-trick-or-treat party, while I strung the orange lights on the porch.

Then it was time for trick-or-treat, which in our neighborhood is a huge celebration! DS dressed like Troy Palamau (sp?) of the Pittsburgh Steelewrs - long curly black wig and all - it was hysterical! DH went out with the younger ones, and 14 yr old DS went out with his roaming group of teenagers, while me and our dog (dressed w/ devil horns!) stayed here and handed out candy.

I was a little concerned that there would be some late night mischief, since it was not a school night, but the police and firemen had our neighborhood well patrolled, so the evening went off without a hitch!

It was quiet here too - in fact, it was quieter all around, which surprised me.

there was a very heavy anti-halloween campaign here about 10 years ago, so now it has become more of an "adult" celebration (with bars and discos holding costume contests and such)... but, it is a huge celebration at the office, so I brought Ale and my niece (Ale came as a ballerina, and niece was a butterly...) I was a mad scientist, and had my very own yard of crazy man eating plants set up at the office ...
oh, and there was a pet costume contest... OUR TURTLE WON!!!!... we disguised him as an island.... I wish I could post a picture, but cameras are forbidden (of course, this is an Embassy and that would be a security breach!!)
