Welcome to DivaTribe

A diva accepts herself as she is right now and strives to be even better.
She doesn't change who she is to fit someone else's idea of what she ought to be.
She reaches for her own ideal sense of whom she wants to be.
She's strong; she's courageous; she's creative.

You may not remember me...but it does not matter.  I used to post as Bananna (I think anyway).  Hello to all Divas!!!

Last time I was here, I was going through major upheavals in my life and just had to take a break to deal with my reality (new baby, blind mother-in-law with stomach cancer, my own mother with breast cancer, dream job that went to Hell because of new baby...etc.) but quite frankly, that is just everyday life anymore.  Rather than re-hash the past, lets start with what brings me back.

Tonight I was going through my digital pictures on the hard drive...7+ years of 2 beautiful boys.  I have not printed a single digital picture yet.  I am choosing the best to print and scrapbook.  Well that is my problem.

Son #1 has tons of pictures of course.  I don't have a problem with that.  Son #2 also has a ton of pictures, but as I look through them, I cannot recall him as a baby.  The images I pull up are of this sweet, roly-poly infant that I raised.  I only know this incredible 3 1/2 yr. old dynamo of a boy...the infant escapes me.

Yes I am sad.  Even more so I understand that I survived severe post-partum depression with son #1 and I am at the turning point with son #2.  In addition, life really serves up some difficult things to deal with.  So, for the first time in about 3 years, I decided that I am finished going it alone (well, thank goodness for my "happy pills", I am not totally alone!).

Divatribe is an incredible place and I am so glad to see that you are still here going strong!!!!  I am back to hear about what others experience in their crazy lives, offer advice if asked and just share with other Divas.  Nothing in my life has ever been random, I just don't usually realize it until later.  Well, today I took the clue loud and clear.  I saw a bumper sticker today, the overriding content of the message was "No Woman Ever Became Famous by Behaving".  Behave?  Me?  NEVER!!!!!!!

So, hello to all Divas.  Let me introduce myself.  I am a Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Terrible Sister-in-Law (Whatever), Architect (by state license), Textile Designer (in my spare time as to not be too "selfish" says my Husband), Unemployed (by corporate downsizing), Terrible Wife (because I am selfish enough to follow my dreams and quite possible support the family by doing it), DIVA..all caps because I am shouting it to the world!!!!

Thanks for listening to me rant...that felt good.

OMG!!!!

I saw your registration come through and it rang some bells for me.  I even said to DH, "I think a former member just rejoined."  And it IS you!  I am thrilled to have you back in the fold. hug big grin

I am back to teaching full-time these days, and DD is 8 now.  DH is no longer self-employed but still has his freelance business.

It's good to have you here again. smile

Thank you so much for the warm welcome back!  I am just so happy to be at a point in my life again to take time for me.  It is hard with 2 DS's, a DH and the need to pull in a full-time income.  For my own sanity, I finally said ENOUGH!  I joined Jenny Craig and have lost 25 lbs.  I work out of my house, yet still send the kids to daycare.  I take walks and work out at the YMCA.  I started getting pedicures again!

Now that I am taking back control of my life, I am so glad to be able to share and support others.  This is a wonderful place!
